Shaun set to go the extra mile for charity
Our very own Shaun Soanes is preparing to saddle up for a grueling 100-mile charity ride.
The team at Nicholas Jacob Architects are preparing to dig deep to support his attempt to cycle 100 miles for breast cancer clinical trials at the Prudential Ride on July 31st.
The route starts at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and follows a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside.
Shaun said: “Every once in a while I agree to do something painful for a few hours in exchange for donations for charity.
“This is not the first time I have chosen an intensive cycling event so I know I am going to be working hard for every penny pledged.”
Last year Shaun joined a team who rode from London to Brighton in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
He said: “That was a ride with a very personal cause because I did it in honour of my father who sadly died from a heart attack at the age of 40 and my close friend Paul Myall, who also suffered a major heart attack but thanks to BHF, survived.
“Paul will be joining me on this latest fundraising mission and together we chose to support The Breast Unit, one of the largest breast cancer clinical trials facilities north of London.”
